Reasons for the break out of epidemics in places that faces flood :

1. After the floods: Water-borne and vector-borne diseases are more and take the form of epidemic:

2.Waterborne diseases are caused by pathogenic microorganisms that most commonly are transmitted in contaminated fresh water eg Cholera, typhoid etc

3.

Vector-borne disease:

Vector-borne diseases are those that are transmitted to humans by an insect. They are often caused by the mosquito that breed in the stagnant waters, such as those left behind after a flood eg:malaria, dengue, chikungunya etc.

The floods may indirectly lead to increase in vector borne diseases by expansion in the number and range of habitat.

The risk of outbreak is highly increased by factor such as human behavioural changes like exposed to area more in mosquitoes, drinking contaminated water and change in habitat.
