See, when the body is moving with uniform speed then the distance travelled by a body is equal in equal intetval of time
That is , if a bodycovers 5 m in 2 s then he will cover again the coming 5 m in 5 sec only.. u can say that he has covered 5+5 @10 m in4 sec
But if the body is in variable velocity then it will cover unequal distance in given time period that is
Body takes 2sec to cover first 4m then it takes 4s to cover another 4 m

The body moving in uniform velocity has constant velocity . Therefore , the relation between Distance and Time is 2. The body moving with variable velocity can either be moving with uniform acceleration or non-uniform acceleration
