1, Generaly a heart weighs 300g in males and 200g in females. In any case if there is difference in weight i.e increase in the weight of heart the blood pumping capacity decreases due to over weight resulting in the decrease in number of beats.

2,As the size of an animal increases, the number of cells in it also increases. ... there are many organs and blood vessels and there is a lot of work to do in a big animal.SO, THE cells slow down and do more work compared to a tiny animal. thus, the heart beats slower in large animals.
