As we know that,
Pressure ( P ) = Force ( F ) / Area of contact ( A )
Here, Pressure is inversely proportional to area of contact. Means, if area of contact increases, the presure decreses.
For instance,when we shoot bulletvtowards window pane then it makes a perfect hole where as if we throw stone onto it then window will brake.
Because bullet has small area where area in stone is wider than bullet.
