The author had a very warm and affectionate relationship with his grandmother since his childhood. As the parents moved to city, they left the author under the custody and care of his grandmother in the village. The grandmother would take utmost care of the author.

When they were called to the city, still they shared a room. However, the grandmother could not help him much in his modern studies. The grandmother adapted to the new life-style of the city.

Later on when the author went to college, and then abroad, this created a distance between them. However, both kept loving each other sincerely. When author returned from abroad, the grandmother celebrated his hoe-coming by singing songs.
