The rhyme scheme of a poem is more or less based on the way it rhymes. I will explain with an example...
"Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveller, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth "
Now in this paragraph ,the first, third and fourth line rhyme and the second and fifth line rhyme.
So the rhyme scheme would be abaab .
1,3 and 4 line = a
2 and 5 line = b
And if you have another different word that doesn't rhyme at all , then you can name it c , d , e .....and so on.

If you take any any line of the poem nd the 3 lines after it, then mark 1st nd 3rd lines as 'a' and 2nd n 4th line as 'b' then you will see that the last words of lines 'a' rhyme nd last words of lines 'b' rhyme and it will b like ab ab
