what is the role between algae and fungi in litchens ? why the relationship is important ? Describe it with some pictures..

thus relationship is called symbiotic relationship. in symbiotic relationship two or more organism establish a permanent relationship between each other in which both are benefited .
in this relationship.fungi provide energy to algae & in return algae which is autotrophic produce its own food & it provide this food to fungi .
this give rise to lichen .
