→ The hydrochloric acid present in our stomach dissolves bits of food and creates an acidic medium.

→ In this acidic medium, enzyme pepsinogen is converted to pepsin, which is protein-digesting enzyme.

→ It also kills many bacteria and other microorganisms that may have entered along with the food.

Role of HCL in stomach ---

(1) It helps to kill the microbes present in the food .

(2) It activate the digestive enzymes Pepsin .

(3) As it reaches in small intestine it give signal to pancreas to produce Bile for other break down in small intestine .
