on the basis of number of Legislature States can be divided into two categories unicameral legislature and bicameral legislature unicameral legislature means in those States the legislature has two houses namely the Legislative Assembly as well as the Legislative Council but bicameral legislature means that States has only one house namely the Legislative Assembly there are 6 states of India which are bicameral and has Legislative Assembly as well as Legislative Council
