our atmosphere has 78% of Nitrogen while 21% of oxygen and rest is other gases . the mass number of oxygen 16 while that of nitrogen is 14.percentage of these both cases would have been opposite the pressure on this atmosphere would have been much more than required . our body is design to bear only required amount pressure . we could not have survived under this huge pressure on us.So the role of atmospheric pressure is to maintain a certain level of pressure on our body so that it functions properly....
