decomposers attack the dead bodies of animals , humans plants etc and break it into pieces and make them to mingle with the soil which acts as a manure which is very organic and good for the soil . in this way what ever minerals we take in during our living is returned to the soil , which enrich`s the  soil and makes it fertile . and good for plant growth .
