The role of philosophers is immense.Philosophers like Voltaire,Mirabeau,Montesquieu and Jean-Jacques Rousseau have played a eminent role in liberation of French Society from the serfdom prevalent .

they wrote and said(appealed) to the people to not to follow the govt.the books of Voltaire and others influenced the society very much and made them revolutionary like . Due to them the people became active and made demands to remove Louis XVI and several attacks and mobs took place .
