The Golgi apparatus or the Golgi bodies consist of a network of flattened membranous sacs that have cisternae (tubules), vesicles and vacuoles within them, they are involved in the production and secretion of several enzymes and hormones and in mammalian eukaryotic cells, they produce the acrosome of the sperm cell.

Lysosomes are flattened sac-like structures that are budded off from the Golgi bodies, they are known as the suicide bags of the cells as they destroy the worn out parts of the cells and also destroy foreign bodies, they are also involved in extracellular digestion.
