HCL breaks down protein in our stomach to prepare them for digestion and kills bacteria that enter our Stomach. HCL also helps to digest other food materials in our stomach.

Answer :-

Hydrochloric acid present in our stomach dissolves bits of food and creates an acidic medium.

In this acidic medium enzyme pepsigen is converted to pespsin, which is a protein digesting enzyme.

It also kills many bacteria and other microorganisms that may entered with the food.
