Hey,

There are two types of executive:-

1. Parliamentary executive

2. Permanent executive

Parliamentary executive- A parliamentary system of government means that the executive branch of the government has the direct or the indirect support of the parliament. This support is generally shown by vote of confidence. the relationship between the executive and the the legislature in a parliamentary system is called responsible government.

Permanent executive- They are appointed in along term basis. They execute laws and rules and regulations. They work under the administration of political executive. They are together known as civil servants and work in offices even when the ruling party changes.

The executive organ of the government includes the Prime Minister, the ministers and a large organisation called the bureaucracy or the administrative machinery. Executive is one of the three organs of the government which primarily looks after the of implementation and administration.There are basically two types of executive.

Political Executive: President, Prime Minister and Minsters.

Permanent Executive: Civil Servants

Role of Permanent Executive:

  1. The permanent executive consists of the trained and skilled officers who work as permanent employees of the government and they are assigned the task of assisting the ministers in formulating policies and implementation of these policies.
  2. The Indian Bureaucracy consists of the All India services, State services, employees of the local governments, and technical and managerial staff running public sector undertakings. They are selected on the basis of merit.
  3. The Union Public Service Commission has been entrusted with the task of conducting the process of recruitment of the civil servants.
  4. The civil services is classified into three types. They are:

All India Services: Indian Administrative Service and Indian Police Service.

Central Services: Indian Foreign Service and Indian Revenue Service

State Services: Sales tax officers.

The bureaucracy is an instrument through which welfare policies of the government must reach the people.
