What is the role of reflex action in high organisms?

In high organism reflex action is very essential. During emergency when brain do not have time for thinking, it passes impulses without thinking to affector organ or muscles of it or its gland. For example- during cooking when we incidently touch hot vessel we take our hands off that. If we dont our body would be burnt. If a small child dont know that his hands would burn he would touch the vessel 2. A small boy dont know how dangerous is a snake when he sees it he may play with it. But when an adult or one who sees a snake he know how dangerous it is , he would immediately run away.
