what is the role of seminal vesicles and prostate gland in the male reproductive system

Seminal vesicle secretes seminal fluid Which constitute about 60 percent of semen.It also helps in sperm storage.


Prostate gland secretes prostate fluid which is alkaline in nature and constitute about 40 percent of semen.

ROLE OF SEMINAL VESICLES AND PROSTATE GLAND :

★  SEMINAL VESICLES :

→ Seminal vesicles are a pair of thin walled muscular and elongated sacs which secrete a fluid nourishment of sperms.

★  PROSTATE GLAND :

Prostate gland also produce a fluid which is released in the urethra along with secretion of seminal vesicle.

It affects the vaginal pH so that sperms move smoothly inside the vagina.
