police acts as a link between the culprit and the society his duty in the case of investigation of any crime is that he need to find who is the culprit and give him/her prison.in addition to police also have to remember that any other Common people can't be hurt by their decision

The role of the police begins with investiggating the crime after lodging FIR. After recording the statement of the witnesses and accumulating evidence the police personnel analyse them and from an opinion.
