The role which nitrifying bacteria has in the cycle of nitrogen is that they converts the ammonia into nitrates. And these bacteria then uses the energy that is released during the process of nitrification to synthesis the organic substances.

The denitrifying bacteria has the role to reduce the nitrates into nitrogen which is in gaseous form.

Name of one denitrifying bacteria is Thiobacillus denitrificans.

And the name of one nitrifying bacteria is Nitrobacter.
