Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) is a programme for Universal Elementary Education. This programme is also an attempt to provide an opportunity for improving human capabilities to all children through provision of community -owned quality education in a mission mode. It is a response to the demand for quality basic education all over the country.

Main feature of SSA:

Sarva Shiksha Aviyan is a universal elementary education programme by the Indian government aimed to make education compulsory for kids between 6 to 14 years of age a fundamental right. It is the 86th Amendment Act of the Indian constitution pioneered by former President Atal Bihari Vajpayee.


OBJECTIVES OF SARVA SHIKSHA AVIYAN:-

They wanted every children to go to school through programmes like Education Guarantee Center, Alternate School, Back To School campaign etc by end of 2003.
