Scattering is the phenomenon by which a beam of light is redirected in many different directions when it interacts with a particle of matter.

Scattering of the light depends on the wavelength of the light. The light with a higher wavelength scatters less when compared to the light with a lower wavelength. The wavelength of VIBGYOR is in the increasing order of the wavelength and that is the reason why red colour light scatters minimum amongst all the seven colour.
