Statistics has a vast scope , uncountable possibilities of applications. However, sometimes it is so much abused in misapplications in trying to make it easy, that this branch of Applied Mathematics and Probabilty has a bad reputation. In my experience, it’s simply waste of time trying to explain its beauty and insights, to those who already have their own opinions about math, physics, science, linguistics or phonetics in general and applications of those.
To those it comes down to personalities, looks, and other characteristics of the person than the topic itself. Avoiding learning it in depth, and in its width.
But, forgetting that those opinions also generate a vast array of Statistics for the Statistician, who base their opinions on numbers and science.
