Hii dear,

# Serum Sodium-
The sodium blood test measures the amount of sodium in the blood.

# Normal range-
The normal range for blood sodium levels is 135 to 145 mEq/L.

# Hypernatremia-
Higher than normal sodium level is called hypernatremia.

It may be due to:
- osmotic diahhrea
- glycosuria
- central diabetes insipidus
- nephrogenic diabetes insipidus
- increased fluid loss
- too much salt in diet

# Hyponatremia-
Lower than normal sodium level is called hyponatremia.

It may be due to:
- inability to retain water
- impaired thirst mechanism
- SIADH
- excess vasopressin secretion
- certain medicines

Thanks fot asking.

Hope you understood it well...
