Electric Potential due to a uniform spherical charge distribution outside the sphere is a function of r only(Not a function of θ or φ).

V = \frac{1}{4πε₀}\frac{Q}{r}

As such electric potential is constant for a fixed r. It means potential is the same at a fixed distance regardless of direction. Thus equipotential surface takes the shape of a sphere outside the charge distribution.
