The shape of bone cell is stellate.

Example:

1. The cells of bone are known as osteocytes. These cells are stellate in shape. In width, these cells measures about seven micrometres while in length, the measurement of this cell is about fifteen micrometres.

2. The stellate shape of cells of bone, that is, osteocytes, is because of the presence of cell processes or extensions of cytoplasm.

3. These cells called osteocytes have a single nuclei in it. Also, these cells performs a very important function called mineral homeostasis.

4. Osteocytes actually comprises 90%-95% of cells in the tissues of bones. These cells are also responsible for bone resorption and deposition.

5. A protein called 'sclerostin' is secreted or released by these bone cells (osteocytes).
