Answer:
A Sound of Thunder and Nethergrave are both about how technology can change people’s lives and they are also both science fiction stories. In the story “A Sound of Thunder”, the character Eckels, learns that there are always consequences to messing with time. In “Nethergrave”, the main character Jeremy decides that maybe the virtual world is better than the real world. Both of these characters don’t want to be either in their own time or in their actual world so they are both running away from something.
Both stories involve technology in different ways. In Eckels case, he learned the hard way that messing with time has major consequences. Eckels uses a time machine, to of course go back in time and the time he wanted to go back to was the time of the dinosaurs. Eckels was supposed to stay on a specific path and he went off and ended up dying.
In “Nethergrave”, Jeremy decides that his world is not one he wants to be in. The world where he feels that he is not wanted. So, he decided that virtual is better than real life. He went into that world and hid away from his fears and worries of living in a world where he is not wanted. Jeremy learned that technology is useful for many things but can also be very destructive and in the end of it all Jeremy ended his life on earth.
Both of these stories show some similarities. Both stories have cowardness, they both ended up dying in the end from running from their fears. Technology caused death and despair in both stories so technology is not the best thing to have in some cases.
