Given in the question :-

We have to find the shortest wavelength.

For the shortest wavelength in paschen series.

n₂ = ∞ , n₁ = 3

By the Rydberg equation,

\frac{1}{\lambda} = R [ \frac{1}{n^2_1} \frac{1}{n^2_2}  ]{ R - rydberg constant }

Now , R = 1.097 × 10⁷ [ \frac{1}{3^2} - \frac{1}{\infty} ]

or

λ min =  9 /1.097 × 10⁷ m

λ min = 8.204 × 10⁻⁷

λ min = 8204 A°

The shortest wavelength in the Paschen spectral line is 8204 A⁰

Hope it helps .
