Since asexual reproduction occurs only in lower forms of life like bacteria, protists, sponges etc., it assures a clone-like copy of the parent whereas the advantage of sexual reproduction assures variety and genetic diversity. ... If an exact copy the parent organism is desired then asexual reproduction is the way to go.

by asexual reproduction one can get a desired characteristics in case of plants. In organisms like Amiga, planaria the same identical offspring could be produced. Moreover this type of reproduction takes less time
