Bastille was a famous fortress prison of France.In 1789 14th July the agitated crowd stormed and destroyed the Bastille.They killed the commander of the Bastille and prisoners were released.The Bastille was hated by all because it stood for the despotic power of the king.The fortress was demolished and the stone fragments were sold in the market to all those whom wished to keep a sovaneer of its destruction.
