ozone also called O3 is very essential for the existence of life on earth. this is because when the UV RAYS of the sun reach to the earth the ozone which has a thick layer around the earth's atmosphere does not allow the uv rays to penetrate through it ...as we know that the uv rays are very damage causing to the life on earth and if they are not blocked by the ozone they might create destruction to the life on earth...so ozone indeed is very important from the point of view of earth's atmospheric protection system.

It protects us from harmful ultraviolet rays. If it depletes uv rays can cause many diseases like skin cancer etc.
