- The second round table conference was held in London (September 1931 – December 1931). Gandiji represented the Indian National Congress.
- Gandiji said that congress alone represented the political India. The untouchable of India are Hindus and does not need label of minorities and there is no need for spate electorate or special safeguard for Muslims or other minorities. This was rejected by other Indian participants. Gandiji returned back empty handed, disappointed from the proceedings.
