Following are the salient features of the NCF 2005:

1. Central Advisory Board on Education established the National Curriculum Framework or in short NFC in September 2005.

2. The main visions or perspectives for this were to support values sanctified in the Indian Constitution, to decrease curriculum pressure, to assure quality learning for everyone, and to inaugurate several systemic reforms, etc.

3. Correlating learning to live outside the Institution, ensuring that old methods of teaching have been improved and exams are more flexible, building responsibility to constitutional values of equality, law, secularism and liberty are some of its guiding principles.

4. This curriculum gave more emphasis on learning without burden.

5. It focuses on all the skills of children.
