Answer:

Similarities and differences between RAM, ROM and hard drives:

The similarity between RAM, ROM and hard drives is that they're kinds of memory in a computer system.

Random Access Memory(RAM) and Read Only Memory(ROM) form the Primary memory of a computer whereas the hard disc is a Secondary memory.

RAM is the temporary memory which is also volatile in nature i.e. contents of RAM are lost if the system is switched off. Since, the contents of RAM can be easily accessed, it is very fast in retrieval.

Though ROM is also a kind of Primary memory, it is required for initiating the boot process and is permanent in nature.

On the other hand hard disc is a secondary storage device which can store large volumes of data and storage is of permanent type till deleted explicitly.

Answer:

1 The hard drive is the primary storage device used to save all the necessary data like OS files, apps, music, videos, etc. Other than the hard drive, we have the RAM (Random Access Memory), ROM (Read-only Memory), etc.

2 the Random Access Memory (RAM) is a temporary storage while the hard drive is the permanent computer storage, it lets you store data for a very long time, and its capacity is measured in Terabytes (TB) or Gigabytes (GB)
