Answer:

The single major memory that comes to the poet is that of his mother. The “darling dreamers” are those 'kids' who remember their mothers like the poet.

Explanation:

Rain On The Roof- Class Nine Beehive Book...( Written by Coates Kinney)

The poet all alone in his cottage on a dark , rainy night remembers his affectionate mother . Specially when the poet was young, his mother very fondly made all the children sleep and left the room. Before leaving she used to lovingly glance at the sleeping children.

The caressing touch and affection of the mother was so touching that the poet could rrecollect all the childhood memories on this rainy night when he is alone in his cottage lying on the bed.

The past memories were weaving a fabric in his mind.

The darling dreamers- are the kids- poet and his siblings. When they were in sleep ,most probably dreaming in their sleep.
