What is the solution of this THE SCALE OF A MAP IS GIVEN AS 1:30000000.TWO CITIES ARE 4CM APART ON THE MAP. FIND THE ACTUAL DISTANCE BETWEEN THEM.
By the method of direct and indirect proportion method

let the map distance be x and actual be y.Then ,
1 : 3× 10^7 = x : y
1 / 3 × 10^7 = 4/y
y = 12 × 10^7
Y = 120000000 cm
1 km = 1000 m
1 m = 100 cm
1 km = 100000 cm or 10^5
y = 1200 km
