Heya!!!

Answer to your question:
4x  + x - 6 = 2(x + 8) + x - 12
5x - 6 = 2x + 16 + x - 12
5x - 6 = 3x + 4
5x - 3x = 4 + 6
2x = 10
x = 5
Hope it helps ^_^

Answer:

4x + x - 6 = 2(x + 8) + x - 12 \\  \\  = 5x - 6 = 2x + 16 + x - 12 \\   \\ = 5x - 6 = 3x + 4 \\  \\  = 5x - 3x = 4 + 6 \\  \\ 2x = 10 \\  \\ x =  \frac{10}{2}  \\  \\ x =  5
