Venus being the second nearest or closest planest from the Sun, is the hottest planet. Theoritically, Mercury should be the hottest planet but it is not so. The structure of atmosphere of Venus is such that once the heat of the sun goes inside, it gets trapped and hence makes Venus the hottest planet! This is a very special feature of Venus!
