The speed of light is 299,792,458 m/s. As the light doesn't need any medium to travel, it can also travel in vaccum. For eg. - the light emited from the sun reaches to Earth. But we know that, space is a vaccum, so, the distance between Sun and the Earth is a vaccum. The emited by the Sun travels through the vaccum at a very high speed of 299,792,458 m/s.
