What is the standard meridian of indian and how it is been selected?

82 degree half east is selected as the standard meridian of india.....

Explanation:

It passes through the mirzapur in U.P, so as it almost passes through the centre of the india, it is taken as meridian...

Other reason is that our standard meridian is fully divided by the eastermost and westernmost longitude of india....

so it suites us the most, all states in india have same time on their watches bcz of st. meridain....
