The status of women's representation in India's legislative bodies is as follows
1.Central Legislature:Less than 10% of its total strength are women.
2.State Legislature:Less than 5% of its total strength are women
3.One third of the seats are reserved for women
4.Women's organization and activists have been demanding a similar reservation of at least one third seats in Lok Sabha.But Bill to this effect has not been passed

1) the status of women is not enough good in the Indian representative bodies ....
2)it is becoz of the male dominant society of India....
3)India has often low literacy rates which doesn't enables women's to be educated....
3)There are many taboos and superstitions in Indian society that women should not be educated at any cost...
4)Though , through some years the percentage of women's participation in indian legislative bodies has increased becoz of good education and supportive nature of government...
