The  poem “Shopping for Time” by Santhini Govindan depicts the universal demand for time in everybody’s life. We always run out of time for doing the things which we enjoy doing. In this poem that poet has expressed the desire that if there would have been a store from which the poet could have bought time, she would be a regular customer of that store and would have bought five minutes or ten minutes of extra time to stretch her hours. She would utilize that time to laze around in her bed in the mornings. She would also buy some lazy afternoons of Sundays and also some cozy summer days but by no means she would buy Monday mornings as they remind her of the impending work.
