As mentioned by Sree Krishna in Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 12, Verse 1-7,
- God is both in personal and impersonal form, since he is everywhere.
- But the clear realization of God is obtained when we are close to him in the temple.
- Shree Krishna has said that devotees of his personal form are better than those worshiping the impersonal form.
- In the temple, one can use the senses to the fullest realization of God. One can see God, hear the chanting of his name and so the mind is able to easily attach to God and meditate on him.
- So Shyam in addition to his pious work, has to develop the habit of going to temple regularly for the systematic devotional progress.
Hope this helps.
