Chanakya is credited for having played an important role in establishment of Mauryan Empire. He assisted first Mauryan Emperor Chandragupta Maurya in his rise to power. Chanakya served as the Chief Advisor to both emperors Chandragupta and his son Bindusara. He also played an important role in mentoring Bindusar's son Ashoka.

Chanakya is also known as Kautilya. He authored two books namely :

(i) Arthashastra

(ii) Chanakya Neeti also known as Chanakya Neeti Shastra

It is the book Arthashastra which discusses about the monetary and fiscal policies, welfare, interdational relations and war strategies in details.

So, Arthashastra is the book which discusses about the fighting tricks.

Chanakya Neeti is a selection of aphorisms from various Shastras.
