United we stand means together we cannot be defeated and divided we fall means when we are alone we are vulnerable.

In simple words it means that when we are together and stand together for a great cause we are sure to achieve it.
While,
When we are partitioned and when we individually stand for a cause we are sure to fail because we are alone and no one's there to support us.
There are many examples to prove this statement.
Best example:-
Consider our own country India before independence; it was ruled by kings when unity lacked in our country. Taking this as an opportunity British entered our country and ruled for many years. However, once Indians became united to fight against them they were successful and attained independence.
