In this poem, James Kirkup describes about the idea of global equality for whole mankind. He says that every man is a same beneath his uniform, walks and is buried in the Same land and shares same harvest of crop. The poet is trying to convey that all human beings irrespective of the country they belonged to are the same. They face the same sufferings and enjoys and share the same sun, moon, air and water.

All People depend on the same elements of nature, which are air, water, fire and earth. Every living being requires the oxygen in the air to survive, and water to carry out all life processes. Everyone requires fire to cook, and also to keep themselves warm during the chilly, wintry months, and also to create new things. Earth is an essential element because we all dwell on earth and it supports plant life. After our death, all our earthly bodies shall lie here. We all are Creation of God, we all are equal.
