The theme of the story 'Patol Babu, Film Star' is comparison between the attitude of older generation people and the new generation people. The author has tried to describe the difference through the character of Patol Babu and the people of the film crew. Patol Babu had loved values and principles whereas the new generation people are mainly focused on getting the work done faster and the monetary gains involved in the work. For example, Patol Babu was punctual, passionate, concerned about his responsibility, hard-working, and did his best to give a flawless performance of the role assigned to him. The film crew, representing the new generation lack ethics and responsible attitude. None of them cleared Patol Babu's doubts about his role till the end. They made him wait. Patol Babu symbolizes his passion and reverence for his area of interest. He remembers his Guru, mentor almost all the time. He believes in giving his best and deriving satisfaction out of his work more than the financial gains.
