torque is the rotatory motion of an object
it is a vector quantity

its formula is
torque= force * displacement

eg. when a door rotates along its hinges it undergoes torque

Torque is the twisting force that tends to cause rotation. The point where the object rotates is known as the axis of rotation. Mathematically, torque can be written as T = F * r * sin(theta), and it's unit is Newton-meter.

for example:
•The rotating force (torque) used when opening a bottle cap.
•Even the spin/turn of the wheel of a car or the turn of a merry-go-round involves torque.
