Total no. of English alphabets =26

Total no. of Vowels =A,E,I,O,U=5

Total no. of consonants =26−5=21

∴ n (chosen letter is a consonant) =21=n(E)

n (sample space) =26=n(s)

∴ Let E= chosen letter is a consonant event .

∴P(E)= n(S)

n(E)

= 26,21
