retina is the thin and sensitive membrane in the rear end or back part of our eyes. the main function of the retina is that it acts as a screen and the light entering our eyes form a real and inverted image at the retina. ( the image distance is controlled by the eye lens and the cornea). this image is sent to the brain via the opticall nerves through the blind spot of our eyes.
the retina also contains several light sensitive organs or tissues known as rods and cones which helps us to see in dim light and also help us to detect colour repectivley.
hope this helped you
thanks...
