Ciliary muscles help in contraction and relaxation, change the shape of the lens
So, we can view objects at different distances with the help of ciliary muscles.

Ciliary muscles hold the eye lens in its position. When the ciliary muscles are relaxed, the lens become thin and it's focal length increases. This enables us to see distant objects clearly. When we look at nearby objects, these muscles contract. As a result the lens becomes thicker and it's focal length decreases. This enables us to see nearby things clearly.

Hope this helps!☺

Amu115: Thanks a lot friend
